Care For Using Your Himalayan Pink Salt Cooking Plates

When you purchase it, the instructions for using and care for pink salt plates are included with the slab. We have to follow those instructions for their best and efficient use and for their long life.

Specify a top and bottom:

To prolong the life of salt plate and to prevent it from cracking or any other issue, specify a top and bottom of the plate.  While cooking, always cook on the same side of the salt plate. It will also slow down the expansion of existing cracks in the salt.

Heat the salt plate slowly:

Heating the salt plate quickly could crash it. So it should be heated at a rate of no more than 200 degrees of temperature increase per every fifteen minutes. Otherwise, you may find yourself grinding a broken piece of Himalayan pink salt.

Don’t oil the salt block:

As oil is a must for grilling and baking etc. so try to apply it to your foods lightly. Don’t oil the salt block directly as it will also crack the block. The results of directly oiling the salt block could be severe like it could catch fire and create a scene in your grilling or kitchen area.

Never ever wash it:

Cleaning the Himalayan salt plates is one of the most important parts. Of course, a little washing is necessary but with a great care. Never use any soap. Scrub the surface lightly with a damp sponge and then dry immediately. As salt and water are considered to be the best friends, try to keep them away from each other.

Use it regularly:

Just like the other tools, the more you use the salt block, the best you will get from it. Once you start cooking with it, you will find that you are becoming more and more creative in the kitchen. After all, you are using a unique way of cooking food that is just far more incredible than just simply cooking.

Safety matters a lot!!!

As the Himalayan salt plates are heated to a high temperature, they become very hot and remain hot for a long time even after removing from burner or oven. Try to protect your hands and the kitchen shelves by placing the plate in a rack specified for placing it. If possible, use the heat resistant gloves to protect your hands.
